Bigger DSi screen on its way

Are your eyes getting sore playing games on the DSi? Scoffing at the idea of getting laser eye surgery to play videogames (I wouldn’t)? Don’t think that 3 inch to 3.25 inch jump from DS to DSI made enough of a difference?
Well, according to Nikkei news, a newspaper in Japan, the system will release for the same price as the current DSi, 18,900 yen.
According to Kotaku, the device “is said to be aimed at an older market, the type who likes big buttons on their telephones and large print books.” From the sounds of it, those desiring a larger screen will have to sacrifice the sleek design, then again I might be thinking too hard about your average gag gift remote control.
As far as the issue of the little bugger finding its way to American or European shores, well, it’s looking kind of bleak at the moment.
Nintendo did respond though. According to Kotaku via Famitsu, they said, “Our company isn’t doing any interviews [about this]. We think it’s a speculative article.”
Isn’t it funny how someone can respond without really responding.
