Beyond Good and Evil 2 will not release this generation

At an Ubisoft dinner last night, Michel Ancel spoke about the progress of Beyond Good & Evil 2. Thankfully, GamesIndustry.biz were in attendance and have been kind enough to let us know the slightly disappointing news. Whilst Ancel confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel is still in development, any hope of seeing it on this generation of consoles was quashed.
“[Beyond Good & Evil 2] is still alive and we are very far [into] development so we can’t go back now. We are targeting the next generation of consoles.”
Ancel and his team are currently heavily focused on Rayman Origins, which was demoed earlier at today’s Ubisoft’s press conference. In the mean time you could play through the fantastic original – a few times.
