Bethesda announce The Elder Scrolls Online
Joannes Truyens May 3, 2012 - 4:24 pmNews: Bethesda Softworks have announced The Elder Scrolls Online MMO, which is set to take place one millennium before the events of Skyrim.

Six weeks ago, we brought word that an MMO set in the Elder Scrolls universe was rumoured to be in development. And holy balls, it was right on the money! Bethesda Softworks have just announced The Elder Scrolls Online for PC and Mac, which is to be an MMO set in the Elder Scrolls universe. So, exactly what it says on the tin!
The MMO is being co-developed with ZeniMax Online Studios, a studio specialised in the development of massively multiplayer games. ”We have been working hard to create an online world in which players will be able to experience the epic Elder Scrolls universe with their friends, something fans have long said they wanted,” says Matt Firor, Game Director of The Elder Scrolls Online.
“It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made, and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise,” he adds. The game will feature three distinct factions and revolve around a daedric prince called Molag Bal who wants to throw all of Tamriel into hell.
So if you’ve always wanted to explore the world of the Elder Scrolls with your mates (and then shoot them in the knees), your prayers have been answered.
More details will become available in the coming weeks, so be sure to keep an eye on BeefJack for that!
