Despite the service being refused authorization by Microsoft, the BBC are still hopeful that the iPlayer will be accessible to the Xbox 360.
The man behind the BBC iPlayer, Erik Huggers, revealed to TechRadar that the company are still adamant about having the service accessible to the console.
The service, which allows users to stream selected programmes from BBC network channels, was dropped by Microsoft due to their desire to only allow users with access to Xbox Live Gold be given additional content services.
The dispute from BBC comes from the fact that it cannot charge for access to the iPlayer seeing as it is already part of the license fee.
