Battlefield 3 is outperformed by two CoD games on Xbox Live during its first week, it’s been revealed – suggesting EA’s fight for military shooting supremacy is far from over.

Major Nelson has released last week’s Xbox Live Activity report and both Black Ops and MW2 rated higher than the newly released Battlefield 3.
EA’s latest entry came in third, so it performed well, just not well enough to knock Activision’s behemoth of the top spot. This might just be down to the fact Battlefield 3 didn’t get a full week of gaming out of us, especially us Europeans who only got it on Friday. EA’s well publicised server issues probably didn’t help matters either.
The big challenge will be how Battlefield 3 copes this week, now it’s on general release and EA saying they’ve fixed a lot of the server problems, including a new patch.
Of the new releases, both Batman: Arkham City, FIFA 12 and Forza 4 featured, the rest being made up of multiplayer mainstays. The full Top 10 is found below:
- Black Ops
- MW2

Activision’s Double XP weekend probably helped a lot.
