A new trailer narrated by Baird details the various features of Gears of War: Judgment’s singleplayer campaign. Epic have also revealed that early copies of the game will come with a free code for the first Gears of War.
It feels kind of weird to have Baird, the new protagonist of Gears of War: Judgment, narrating a trailer that details the game’s specifics. I suppose it’s one of those ludonarrative dissonances all them smart folk keep talking about. Anyways, if you hadn’t been keeping up with our extensive coverage, Baird handily recaps it all for you in the form of a new trailer titled ‘The Guts of Gears’.
Microsoft and Epic Games also issued a press release stating that early copies of Gears of War: Judgment will be going out with a free token that allows you to download the first Gears of War via Xbox Live. Apparently, “research indicates that more than half of the consumers who played Gears of War 3 did so without having experienced the original title.” For shame!
You’ll find the trailer below. It’s interesting to note how the implementation of the Declassified Missions, which make you play the game in a certain way for additional bonuses and unlocks, are very close to what achievements do, only they’ve been integrated into the game’s narrative.
