ArcheBlade launches Kickstarter to finish

News: ArcheBlade, the free-to-play game by CodeBrush, has launched a Kickstarter campaign and is set to release March 2013 via Steam.

It’s interesting how a developer takes ideas from games that are unlike its genre and puts them to use. ArcheBlade, a free-to-play game based on a novel with the same title, is a third-person action-fighter that derives some of its ideas from the likes of Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Tekken, and MOBA games. Judging by that, it doesn’t sound very good. All of those games are vastly different in their style, even the fighting games. But by the looks of some of the gameplay, it looks like CodeBrush Games are on to something.

If fighting games such as those are the benchmark for their combat, then it’s nice enough to believe that the balance the game will shoot for will make playing it very fun. Still, that won’t be possible if the team doesn’t get some money, which is why they’ve launched a Kickstarter, which is off to a slow start. As of writing, there are 10 backers and $465 to raise. They’re looking for $100,000 and there are 42 days left.

CodeBrush expects to launch ArcheBlade March 2013 on Steam. Apparently, they had a successful closed beta. Hopefully, it was successful to see this Kickstarter through. If not, then we’ll have to wait.
