Gene Simmons of KISS fame has been in talks with Angry Birds developer Rovio about a possible KISS themed Angry Birds game.
In a world where KISS has been crossed with Hello Kitty, the idea of Rovio’s Angry Birds becoming somehow entwined with the battle between bird and pig doesn’t seem as crazy as it sounds at first. KISS frontman Gene Simmons – that guy with the tongue – told Industry Gamers in a recent interview that talks have been happening with Rovio. And as if that weren’t enough, they’re also in talks with Sony to bring KISS in somewhere:
“Well, we’re talking with Sony games now. We are really trying to take it in areas that haven’t been done before and have stayed out of the marketplace because the ideas simply weren’t exciting enough. [...] We’re talking with Angry Birds, KISS and Angry Birds, which will become a deal.”
Perhaps the scariest news to come out of the interview is that Simmons pointed out that KISS has recently teamed up with the Archie Comics. The KISS Archie Comics are due out later this month.
Before Christmas, Rovio’s marketing chief Peter Vesterbacka had said that was no reason why the company couldn’t become as big as Disney. Obviously to complete world domination, one needs to keep up with Hello Kitty.
