Ad Campaign Boosts PS3 “Purchase intent” 36%

His name is Kevin Butler and thanks to him, Sony has seen PS3 (buzzword alert!) “Purchase Intent” jump through the roof.  What “Purchase Intent means, though, is still a mystery.

Butler, played by actor Jerry Lambert, has been part of Sony’s latest PS3 “It Only Does Everything” campaign, and according to Sony the response has been exceedingly positive.

You may remember the ads drew a bit of heat from the Nigerian government when they debuted last year, after the commercial poked fun at the country’s notorious email scams.

All that aside, even I have to admit that I find the commercials amusing, at least the first few times I see them. Lambert’s deadpan delivery is spot on and actually funny commercials are pretty hard to come by.
