Activision to make a Battleship FPS…

Based off the upcoming strategy-game-gone-movie Battleship Activision are working on an FPS in the same IP.

Yes, you read it right, your hopes and dreams have been answered. There is  finally, after all these years, going to be an FPS based off the Battleship series. I bet you, like me, look at those small plastic ships and wish, just wish, that you can somehow admire these ubiquitous grey plastic blocks as though you were a to-scale sailor upon them. With a machine gun.

Activision, publisher of Modern Warfare 3, has taken the game into its stable;  so we must assume that the same amount of money as goes into their development will be pumped into Battleship. The game is being developed by Double Helix, those what brought us Green Lantern, The Path of Neo, and the Buffy the Vampire Slayer games.

Neither publisher nor studio have denied the rumour that downed enemies shout “You sunk my battleship” with their dying breath, nor that, in an effort to create a meta experience, a disembodied voice from the sky will sporadically say things like “Dad, are we almost there yet?” and “Davey’s getting car sick!”.

Any future news of the game’s development can be found here.
