An incoming update to XBox LIVE will increase the cap on the size of the friends list to 1,000. According to Pikimal, XBox Germany have posted a Facebook entry which mentions “long-term changes… desired by Xbox LIVE users” relating to the current friends limit of 100. While you might not have that many names to remember, this will hopefully allow larger groups of gamers to connect, and might not force you to be so picky about palling up with that strange man who whispers to you in Halo multiplayer.
Update: Microsoft super-rep Major Nelson has tweeted that this won’t be happening after all, alas. Alone forever.
