2K is coming under storm as a result of a design decision made in the layout of the new Bioshock 2 DLC.
The Metro Pack DLC, which adds new maps to the multiplayer mode of the game has eluded a lot of players who have purchased it but then not been able to play the new maps because they are not owned by other players in the party.
2K have designed the DLC so that it can only be played if everyone in the lobby owns the DLC. If there is at least one person who has not downloaded the content, the game is reset to the base maps. With no specific Metro Pack mulitplayer mode, it’s kind of hit or miss whether you are able to use your newly purchased content.
2K commented on the matter:
We couldn’t assume all players would purchase the new maps, so we made a design decision to unify the player base and make sure no one got split up.
I think most Bioshock 2 players would agree that it would be wise for 2K to set up an independent playlist for each seperate piece of DLC Don’t let me down 2K!
