2.8 Hours Later re-infects Glasgow, Bristol & London

Luke Stratford February 6, 2012 - 7:52 pm

The live-action undead-invasion game returns for 2012 – adding Glasgow to the tour.

As you may well remember, last year, BeefJack Editor Lewis Denby soiled his undergarments in the name of journalism as he participated in the live-action zombie event ‘2.8 Hours Later‘, a full day of solving puzzles and running like hell from the undead. It’s the kind of thing that most fans of the survival horror style of gaming would love, but undoubtedly avoid because of the nerdy implications it entails. Unfazed, Lewis reccorded his escapades for us to enjoy, and if you haven’t read it already, I seriously encourage you to do so. It’s bloody, good, fun.

Slingshot, the people behind the game, have announced a new date for their 2012 calendar, kicking off in Glasgow this March, before proceeding through to London and Slingshot’s home, Bristol. It may seem like small potatoes, but given that this is a massive undertaking, co-ordinating and sealing off areas of each town in order to give players the perfect ‘ohshitohshitohshit!’ experience, it’s worth taking a peek.

In addition to the dates confirmed, Slingshot are considering Cardiff, Liverpool, Nottingham, Brighton, Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester and Sheffield for hosting further events. Plus, if you feel like taking part, but can’t afford a ticket, you can always offer to act as a volunteer and join the undead hordes. So, if in the next few months, you see a horde of rampaging bloodthirsty freaks charging down the street, it’s probably them.

Or the end of the world. Either way, I reccommend you run like hell.
