Silent Hill Remake Releasing in December
Konami’s classic suspense thriller that really has defined the genre has set its release date on the Wii. Gamespot informs us that Konami is not thinking of this game as a pure remake:
Calling Silent Hill: Shattered Memories a reimagining rather than a remake, Konami said that the game will again follow Harry Mason as he searches the eerie town of Silent Hill in an effort to find his daughter. However, Shattered Memories will offer a number of new wrinkles to the original, with Konami promising “an interactive user interface” as well as a revamped puzzle system.
Shattered Hills is meant to be the first Wii installment of the series, and plans to use the console’s motion sensing capabilities to enhance the atmosphere of the game. The Wii’s controller will serve as your player’s flashlight and cell phone at different points of the story. The Wii version of the game will hit store shelves on Decmeber 8,2009, while the PSP and PS2 versions will follow with only a short delay.
