Test Drive Unlimited To Race With CryEngine 3
After it was confirmed as being in development by Eden Games, Test Drive Unlimited 2 may have an ace up it’s very fast sleeve.
The game is being rumoured to use Crytek’s CryEngine 3, one of the most advanced graphics engine’s ever developed. The previous versions were solely used for CryTek’s own games such as Far Cry and Crysis, but now the first racing game to use the technology could be on the horizon. The recent screenshots of the game do feature some of the features Crytek toting when they started to unveil the engine including:
- integrated vegatation and terrain cover generation
- Deferred lighting, soft shadows and Natural lighting
- Dynamic volumetric light beams and light shaft effects
So the game will look pretty then, assuming this is true.
