It’s no secret that the people at Electronic Arts have been working to revamp their popular Need for Speed franchise. The main method for that new direction has been a restructuring of the development teams that work on the game. EA has begun the process of using three studios simultaneously to work on new entries in the series. One of those studios, Criterion, is now working on a new Need for Speed title that is set to release in 2010. The restructuring was designed to split the game into three distinct genres: Pure simulation, arcade racers and action racers. The recently released Need for Speed Nitro was considered an arcade racer, and Shift, was a simulation. This could mean that we will be seeing an action racer (Think Most Wanted) in 2010.  With Criterion’s pedigree, we should be able to get our hopes up quite high for this title. We could very well be on our way to seeing a Burnout-like Need for Speed game that brings a great deal of new energy to the series.

  • Since I played need for speed, underground was my 1st one. Then underground 2,most wanted, and carbon.I haven’t played pro street, undercover, and shift, but I gonna play them soon.Since 2010 is a new decade, need for speed have to be better than ever.Ferrari have to be back on the need for speed series.Plus, there need to be more cars too.More tuners like supra, lancer evo 8,civic,240sx,Silvia S15,S14,S13,RX7,S2000,Intergra,RSX,TSX escapically,Accord, and more.Exotics like Ferrari Enzo,F430,FXX,SL65 AMG,XFR,Charger SRT8,Challenger SRT8,Gallardo,Muriclago,Veryon,Ultimate Aero TT,Saleen S7,Mclearn F1,Mecerdes Mclearn and Mclearn 722 rpad edition,Muriclago LP670-4,M3,M5,M6,Carrea GT,and more.I Think if EA create a need for speed that have tuners and exotics and they go against each other on the city streets filled with high speed striaght interstates with cars going 225-275 mph, that would be good. The next NFS have to have unlimited customization.Like need for speed exotics vs tuners would be a good title for 2010.
