Sonic Collection coming to the DS
Surprise!
I was a Genesis kid, Genesis does (read: did) what Nintendon’t, but even I’m fed up with Sega at this point. I’m pretty sure I own Sonic 1 and 2 in at least four forms, if not more. It’s time to move on, Sega. What you’re doing is no longer, and hasn’t been for a while, a celebration of your glory days. It’s just shilling the same four games over and over to desperate fans, like myself.
According to the Australian ESRB equivalent, the OFLC, Sonic Classic Collection has been submitted for rating on the DS. Let me remind you Sonic 1 has been released on XBLA, PSN, each of last generation’s consoles multiple times, Sonic’s Genesis Collection, GBA, and now the DS. Is there any system that Sonic hasn’t graced with his 1991 presence? I think the PSP, but I could be mistaken.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Sonic, and each game that comes out I see as a ray of hope for the much sought-after ‘return to form’, but it never comes. I’m hesitant about Project Needlemouse, it could really be the HD Sonic that I’ve always wanted. Lets hope it’s not simply Sonic 1 remade with 3D graphics, although it worked for Mario…
