Sony: More Pressure on PS3 Price

Last month it was Activision putting pressure on Sony to cut the price of the PlayStation 3, and now the CEO of the newly formed Tecmo-Koei (Kenji Matsubara), has revealed to CVG that he too wants a price cut.
“Whenever I discuss this with Sony reps I always ask them: ‘Please cut the price’, but I don’t have a clear view on Sony’s situation,”
“Yes, from a publisher’s point of view we would welcome a price cut for PS3, and we are waiting, definitely,”
With rumours persisting of the existence of a PS3 Slim and of price cuts later this year. It is probable that pressure will continue to mount on Sony to cut the price of the PlayStation 3.
Even if Sony are already planning to cut the consoles price this year, I would not anticipate an official announcement on price until a few days before the cut comes into effect. This is in order for Sony to maintain sales of the PlayStation 3 in the meantime.
