Patapon 2 to be Completely Digital
Sony has just confirmed that Patapon 2 will be download-only via the PSN store and they have no plans to release it on a UMD.
This is pretty big new considering there were rumors flying around a couple of weeks ago that the new PSP would be UMD-less. With this latest announcement of a download-only game, it gives a bit credibility to a new future for the PSP.
However Sony reps were quick to say that this download-only game of Patapon 2 is “a one time test case” to test the waters of different avenues of distribution. Patapon 2 will be available May 5th at both retail and via the PlayStation Store.
