Get Hitched Vana’diel Style
A long promised feature in Final Fantasy XI has been implemented; the ability to marry other players is now available in game.
The official site has all the details for would be love birds, and all told the system definitely seems pretty neat.
Now as a person who’s dabbled in online game ‘RP’ (role playing) before, I can see why this announcement would make some squeal for joy. Virtual weddings are not my cup of tea, but hey to each his own. Anytime a game can mechanically back up a strictly role playing construct, it always adds that little bit of coolness for those who care.
Final Fantasy XI really seems to have reached that interesting MMO end life stage where new converts aren’t really the driving force anymore. Instead, and rightfully so, Square Enix is focusing on keeping current players happy, and they seem to be doing a wonderful job.
