Happy Birthday Warcraft!
Two big happy anniversaries are in order for Blizzard’s uber-popular franchise Warcraft. The World of Warcraft has now been online for 5 years (3 and a half if you take downtime into consideration) and the Warcraft Universe has been in existence for 15. I suspect that’s older than half of the Alliance characters that play on my server.
I’m a youngish man myself, and I remember fondly when Warcraft : Orcs & Humans was released. It was the first serious RTS I ever played and it was the start of a my long, happy affair with Blizzard Entertainment.
Blizzard has marked the occasion by announcing the following on their site:
“To commemorate these milestones, we’ve just launched the Warcraft anniversary website. There you’ll find video interviews featuring personal anecdotes from some of the shapers of Warcraft, as well as the Battlecry Mosaic where you can show off your faction pride.”
Festivities in WoW have already begun with the kick off including last week’s Mohawk Grendades. Blizzard has promised plenty more in the coming days and BeefJack will keep you posted on anything that is particularly rad.
