Assassin’s Creed II gets mandatory install
Assassin’s Creed II is coming soon, and I’m super excited; I loved the first one. It’s one of the very few games that I got all of the achievements for. That’s right, you’re looking (well, reading) at someone who got each and every flag, and killed every Templar in the game.
Something that makes me glad for having pre-ordered the 360 version though, the PS3 version is getting a mandatory install. But really, how surprising is that? If the design of the game is anything like the first, and from what I’ve heard it’s a little different, there will be loading each time you move to a different city.
Weighing in at a less-than-expected 2gb, the install is said to take “5 to 6 minutes to complete”, so it could be worse. I’ve heard of some of the heavy installs some games have required upwards of 10 minutes. I always wonder, what exactly is installing? I know it’s game data, but what data? Is it background textures? Character models?
Who knows. It’s there and if you get the PS3 version you’ll have it. You’ll also have that rad PSP inter-connectivity though, so don’t go crying too much.
