Active Demigod players sink to a new low
It’s not abnormal for a game to gradually lose users, and games that are supported with constant updating and changes tend to last much longer. Looking at World of Warcraft with it’s seemingly bi-monthly content patches and Team Fortress 2’s semi-regular class updates, they both continue to have thriving communities.
Demigod however seems to be having some issues. I haven’t played it myself, but my younger sibling has it, and played the hell out of it for about a month, two at the most. But now? He claims that there continues to be connection issues, balance issues, and there hasn’t been and update for months.
According to Gamerlimit, the number of active players was 976 at their time of checking. Granted, it could have been late-night, no specifics are given, but even late at night it’s expected there should be more than five open games.
Stardock’s games may be renown for being DRM free, but without constant support even their games can do poorly. Even checking the games stats right now, there is only around 1200 players online.
