XBOX 360 Getting a New Accessory This Week

For the small number of people who actually purchased the original XBOX 360 Wireless Network Adapter, a better device is on its way. Microsoft is planning on releasing a Wireless N adapter for its console this week. Wireless N is a faster, higher bandwith wireless format that allows for better connectivity. The upgrade should allow those who use wireless for their online play to experience less lag, faster download times, higher quality streaming and improved security. With all of that considered, it may be an upgrade worth making. The product will be available for $99.99, the same price of the original adapter when it was released.
While giving users a better way to get online is all well and good, the price tag seems a bit ridiculous. The original adapter did so poorly in part because of the high price tag, and Microsoft seems to be making the same mistake here. Does anybody really plan on purchasing a wireless N adapter for their console when it is double the price of a similar product for the PC?
