And just as it isn’t immune to recession, the gaming industry can’t escape the yearly orgy of back patting. So the next time you log into Xbox Live, why not flip on over to the Spotlight channel to cast your vote in Microsoft’s 2nd annual Xbox Live Arcade Awards?
Voting is open from March 3rd through the 10th, and looking at the nominees, it’s apparent that 2008 was a really great year for downloadable games. But amongst all the Braids and Castle Crashers and Bionic Commando Rearmeds, I couldn’t help but notice very little love for Doritos Dash of Destruction. What gives? A free game about Doritos-chomping dinosaurs isn’t good enough for you, you elitist?
