Tom Clancy’s HAWX Plagued by Crashes?
A number of players are reporting that Tom Clancy’s HAWX is experiencing freezes upon reaching the start screen. Most notable being Jeff Gerstmann who says he has experienced the problem at least three of the four attempts he has made at starting the game up.
Comments on the post featured at Giant Bomb have perhaps shown that the problem may be more widespread as a number of users have confirmed similar issues. Currently it is unknown if the issue occurs on the PS3 version.
Ubisoft is being contacted for comment on this possible game breaking bug.

I was having the same issue but when i installed it to the hard drive i have not had the problem since it does seem to pause there for about 20 seconds then it moves on. you can try that and see if it helps
Recently purchased Elite. It is not a “Jasper.”
I’ve experienced numerous crashes. Only about 5% of the time I play the game without experiencing at least one crash. Game is installed to hard drive.
Sometimes, during an intro and sit-rep pre-mission, the video will freeze, but the audio will continue. Pressing the big guide button on the controller does not bring up the guide on screen, but I can hear the noise it makes. Audio from the intro continues until the end, and the xbox becomes unresponsive.
Sometimes, after letting it sit for a minute to watch the opening cinematics, it freezes before being able to “Press Start”, sometimes just after.
As of yet, the game has never frozen while in the middle of a mission.
I have the Ps3 version of this game and it freezes almost every time I finish a campaign mission (every time in co-op mode!).
yea ps3 version is crashing ive had 2 ull system crshes one on a loading screen the other in battle, im not impressed
it just started today as well

Froze a few times during play, and has been freezing on start screen more often recently
at PC it crash insain much also. when i create a account and press on apply he keep crash ffs
well the pc version wont even start for me, it just crashes my pc straight away, i have all updated drivers and my hard ware aint an issue so i dunno
Same to me. It freezes in a midlle of the mision batle and running in tasc manager but on the screen does not.It goes out full screen and black.Sound goes OK.
I have just started playing H.A.W.X on my vista 32 PC and it runs beautiffuly on full GFX at 1680 x 1050 for about 2 consecutive missions but then during the game it will crash the system completely!
The way I’ve found around the crash at the start screen is to sign out before booting the game. Once you get to the start screen, you press start then you can select your account on the 360. This seems to work fine for me.
Just bought this game 2 days ago for my xbox360.
Have yet to get past the starting screen without it locking up. This is after downloading some update.
What a piece of crap. I want my money back !!!
i bought the game for my pc and a logitech joystick, i have all the recommended settings and more, but i caint understand why it plays great sometimes then crashes the next, it only crashes during a mission not at the intro or anything, any ideas please as to how i can stop it from happening.
Got the game this week, after the update. It seems to freeze on the start screen about 1/2 of the time.
Forgot to mention, I have the xbox 360
On my desktop computer it runs ok, only 2-3 crashes during play in 7 days. But on laptop I can’t even start it. Freezes on begining.
on my laptop,I loaded the game fine yesterday, my old laptop meets all requirements, even played it for 2 minutes before it crashed out, just froze on the screen with the ‘target aquired’ blipping. I had to Ctrl-Alt-Del out of it each time (6 in 30 mins).
Tried to start it up today – no joy at all. Launch the program and just get a black screen and 1 solitary ‘bip’ sound.
Ive loaded latest patch and Directx but nowt.
Very disapointed. Will be returning it to the shop i got it from for money back and prob never buy Ubisoft again.
oh yeah i have also uninstalled and re-installed it twice already. I give up on it now, would prefer to get my money back.
in the middle of the mission that game continious to freeze i can hear the plane moving and all that but in order to continue i need to press the alt+ctrl del then press esc to resume normally it also happens during multiplayer :S
