Microsoft Forces NXE onto Internet-less Gamers via OXM

The next issue of the Official Xbox 360 Magazine will feature the New Xbox Experience. The new dashboard update will be included on the disc that is also filled with demos and trailers.
The move will give console owners without access to Xbox Live the chance to install the NXE onto their consoles and experience the fun of installing games to the hard drive and customizing avatars that many may now take for granted.
Putting the NXE on the OXM disc is only a small part of Microsoft’s plan to introduce the NXE to all gamers. The update will also be pre-loaded onto new consoles and retail game discs with Tom Clancy’s HAWX and MLB: 2K9 being the first to receive this treatment.
Any titles that ship with NXE will not allow the player access to the game unless the new dashboard interface is installed.
The next issue of OXM will be available to buy on 9 April.

I’m sure that providing an update, on a disc, with a magazine you pay money for is exactly forcing people to go with NXE. Yes, they want them to have NXE, but forcing, really?
Thanks for the comment, Iain.
The word ‘force’ was used as the NXE is also being put on game discs that are unplayable until the update is installed.
Rejecting the update will mean that you cannot play new games.
Hmmm, yeah on game discs, sure. But the headline reads “via OXM”. It doesn’t say, “via new games”.
nice, really nice!
