Konami Considering Metal Gear Solid 4 Port for Xbox 360

He says, she says, in the end, they all say. Konami is finally admitting that there is a very good chance that Metal Gear Solid 4 will get an Xbox 360 port.
Konami’s Yoshitaka Arai admitted to Japanese investor bulletin Morningstar.
“The worldwide demand for an Xbox 360 version (of MGS4) is quite high,” “It is something we are currently looking into.”
The question now is how they’ll manage to transfer all of that Blu-ray content — a point of PlayStation 3 superiority that was even joked about in-game — to a reasonable number of discs on the 360.
Possible Ideas
The easiest way for this to happen would be for Konami to place acts 1-3 of Metal Gear Solid 4 on disc one, then place acts 4-5 of Metal Gear Solid 4 onto disc two. This option would work out because MGS4 gives you the option to save your game data after each act, so it wouldn’t interrupt the level or quality of gameplay.
Now also with the added feature of installing entire Xbox 360 discs to the 360’s harddrive it gives Konami the chance to get gamers to install the whole of MGS4 to the 360’s harddrive (GTA IV was 6.5 GB, maybe MGS4 would be about 13-14GB).
As we’ve seen with GTA IV on 360 there was no install times required as all the data is kept on the DVD disc, this same idea could be applied to both discs for Metal Gear Solid 4, this would eliminate the install times seen on the PS3 version of the game (Average of 20 minutes).

Beings as MGS4 is already out on PS3, all they have to do is port it over to 360 and this would give the team a chance to find any bugs/problems with the development and overcome them, this would make the development of a future Metal Gear game on 360 easier and it would that would speed up future developments.
MGS4 on 360 would probably get everything the PS3 version got, (all of the downloadable content including iPod songs and OctoCamo), Metal Gear Online might be included with both of the expansion packs (GENE & MEME) thrown in. Remaking Metal Gear Online to work the Konami ID with your 360 Gamertag would take a lot to reworking as it’s currently in place to link up the Konami ID and PSN ID, it would take too long and cost too much for Konami to do this, so I’d assume that Metal Gear Online would stay exclusive to PS3 and won’t be a part of Metal Gear Solid 4 on 360.
I’d estimate though that the 360 version of Metal Gear Solid 4 would have shorter loading times and no installations to wait through with the option to dump the whole game on the 360 harddrive. This would be the quickest and cheapest way for Konami to make money out of an already successful game.
Do you think Hideo Kojima and Konami would put MGS4 on the 360? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below

SUCK ON A GIGANTIC OCTOCAM c***
I had no problem instaling the 2nd disk on the ps1 .It was no hassel for me so I think if it takes 20 minutes to load the ps3 version I believe I whold rather have faster load times and install 2 disk. thats the only argument ps3 has on xbox is the blue ray .Oh yea I forgot the red rings .I hope you all know microsoft have fixed the red ring problem in the new 360s i have had my xbox since release .I havent had any problems acceppt for disk reading error >And i used 1 of those long cue tips damped with a little alcohol cleaned my lens no more problems.I had a ps3 sold it 4 another xbox 360 with a 20gig hard drive and $250 dollors everybody talks about blueray movies on ps3 thats the only thing that makes it worth what it’s worth. As far as price the xbox is the best deal 4 gamers price ’support ,etc, did you know xbox has net flix and you pay small price 4 1 year all the movies you can whatch ‘better comunity’ As far as graffix I think the box is better but thier so close theirs really no difference. except about 250 dollors after taxes and the xbox has hdmi now 1080p. But they are both great machines.
I would really like this i have all the metal gear solid games except for MGS4 because i don’t have a ps3.I don’t care if there is no online. I just badly want to play this game
Thanks dude,i like the way you write…
Lol. Hideo Kojima himself has already stated that MGS4 will remain a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Who else’s decision is it? He doesn’t want it on a crap system, so I doubt it will.
i have both systems, and tbh there is no reason why he shudnt, at all, he wud meake so much money, nd he didnt say that recently, if u read the date, this is a fairly recent article. It would sell so many copies if it was ported, and if they are a real buisness they will deffinately do it. ahd Jacob Rollin, the 360 is far from crap, just cos ur a PS3 fanboy loser nerd. get a f***ing 360 and give Left 4 Dead a spin, its f***ing cool.
So, I think this will deffinately happen, its just a question on when.

xxxx loves
I love how people like you scream at people, calling them a PS3 Fanboy, while, ironically enough, praising the Xbox 360. You sound like just as much of a 360 Fanboy as they are PS3 Fanboys.
Does anyone else smell that? I smell hypocrisy.
lol, wts ur problem Tim? is it cos u have a rediculous name? i cant take that name seriously since monty python!
i prefer my PS3!! i just dont like people slagging off my 360 when it has some amazing games and is just a really good system.
Both are good systems, nd both have their individualy good games, however since i last posted on here i have changed my mind. It will never be released on the 360 i hate to say.
but dont slag me off again timothy, i am the master of comebacks and i may make you cry!
forever yours :p
james
Wow ,”PS3 fanboy loser nerd” extremely mature, you know, your giving off quite the stereotypical 360 fan look. And besides Left 4 Dead is much better on the computer.
i love you guys you make me smile i love it why dont you all start with god of war 3 now wont be long till it out o and resi 5 “its looks better on ps” “no it doesnt xbox is better” give up and go get girl friends lmao
I can’t see the problem if they put it on the xbox, iv’e got MGS4 for my ps3 and it wouldn’t bother me if xbox players were going to play it, it doesn’t affect me in any way what so ever!
Brother! It’s not over yet!
I really dont think the 360 will be able to handle the high resolution textures. Its all just too much memory…
I think the ps3 fanboy comment was aimed at the guy who called the 360 a crap system moments before. The PS3 is obviously an elitist piece of hardware, and it’s no surprise that its owners frequently let this go to their heads (see: the south park episode about hybrid cars).
I think a port of this game to 360 is inevitable, they did it with every other MGS after all. Can’t wait!
I’ve experienced the power of both PS3/360 and I can agree that they both are stronger in some aspects than others, they each have they’re faults. But are still both worth owning. I don’t care what platform the game is really on, so long as I have the game and I’ve enjoyed every kilobyte of passion Kojima has put into it. That’s all I personally have to say about that…
But I know of some others that could go on for days, months, until it’s gone too far, and then keep going on. So without any further a due………

During Outer–Haven’s last trip to E3, we came across some interesting news. Kojima has stated that he wishes people cared more about the game itself than the hardware it’s released on:
“I’ve been doing a lot of interviews and stage shows, and half the questions are like ‘Will MGS4 be coming out on 360 or other formats?’, and in the near future I hope they’ll ask me about Metal Gear, about us, about our future projects, and will stop caring about the hardware …
… But, you know, what kind of disturbs me sometimes, because a lot of people ask me about this PS3/360 question, is that it’s not about the hardware – I want people to look at the game itself. Sometimes I even feel like it should be on a PC so that people don’t ask me about hardware and platforms.”
Despite being sick of the question, Kojima did say that he felt an Xbox 360 port of his game was “probably not possible” due to the game being optimized for the PlayStation 3. Not too sure if that’s such a big barrier, but who knows? Either way, I think everybody needs to stop asking Kojima about it before he punches someone.

In the wake of Konami telling a Japanese investor site that it was “looking into” an Xbox 360 version of MGS4, Microsoft is now quoted as saying that the Xbox 360 can “handle” MGS4. With Final Fantasy XIII now multi-plat, that argument seems like it could very well hold water. According to John Schappert, the firm’s corporate vice-president of Live, Software and Services:
“I’m certainly in the fan club that would love to see Kojima-san’s masterpiece come our way. It would be wonderful to play Metal Gear Solid on the Xbox. It could become another of the many franchises that started their life on another console that are now coming our way…
…I can’t speak on behalf of Konami, but I can shed more light on the fact that we definitely have the power to run MGS4…
…There are a lot of recent examples that are in true high-def on our platform and aren’t on PS3. We’ve got an amazing amount of horsepower and graphics power.”

WHEN WILL THIS END?! Guess when MGS4 is on the Xbox 360, that’s when. Ungh.
Xbox 360 owners need a metal gear. simple as. Hopefully this plan goes into action. Rejoice!!!
