Too Many Foes For The Big Daddy Of FPS This Year
Bioshock 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the FPS hit, has been delayed to 2010.
The news may not be that shocking given the number of titles that do see delays, but the reasons are interesting. Officially, the reason is to make the game that much better, providing developers with enough time to make it the hit it is sure to be, but unofficially its competition is more than a little stiff.
Bioshock 2 was originally slated to appear in November 2009, right in the middle of the 4th quarter release schedule, and if you look at the release list for that time period, you can easily see another reason for the delay as Modern Warfare 2, Darksiders, Assassins Creed 2, MAG, Uncharted 2 and many others are released around then. So rather than fight them off, the Big Daddy has thought about it, and moved away to continue on.
