Rumours are starting to surface about the next game in the popular fighting series Dead Or Alive.

It is currently unconfirmed but it seems Dead or Alive 5 could be in production at the moment, with it possibly seeing a multiplatform release after the departure of Team Ninja’s biggest Xbox 360 fan, Tomonobu Itagaki. The rumour has surfaced after retailers where informed via distribution channels that the game is set for release, though no dates or platforms have yet been announced. Indeed the entire game has yet to be announced by Tecmo, the series’ long time publisher.

At best this is sketchy, but the series is very popular (the image above probably shows why) so a sequel is almost a given at this point. We will bring you more details when they arrive.

  • Please Team NINJA, make it happen.

I’ve been a massive fan of DOA since the very beginning of the series.
It’s my 2nd favourite fighting game series, SoulCalibur will always be number 1 to me.
But DOA is a kick ass fighting game that needs to see a 5.
Tekken 6 has just been released and all I can say is that with the time it’s taken to release that game, it was a major dissapointment, I was not impressed at all.

I’ve been waiting along time for a DOA5,
so it would be really great to see Team Ninja continue the franchise.

  • I don’t know about DoA 5. It probbaly won’t come out. And even if it DID come out. It probbaly won’t look or feel the same anymore.

When Ninja gadien Simia came out Ryu looked a little bit diffent than he did before Itagaki quit Team Ninja. So the same thing might happen for the charcters in Dead or Alive 5. Hopefully, it won’t ruin the game and put an end to the series itself.

Ninja gadien simia ruined Ryu’s looks a little bit. Just a little bit. But it still managed to look like a ‘okay’ game so there’s hope yet for DoA. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens to the DoA series now that Itagaki’s gone.
