It’s hard to port a game, apparently. Well, it is when you’ve got standards and want to make the best game you can, and not just puke it out and call it a day, or if you’ve got a multi-billion dollar international corporation hounding you.

All are good answers for excellent ports, and for Darwinia+, it’s the final option, with Microsoft giving them a hard time. According to Eurogamer during the Eurogamer Expo, Introversion’s Mark Morris and Chris Delay said Darwinia+ will be out on “the next side of Christmas”.

I recall playing the demo years ago, being confused, and quitting. There is room for a retry though, as Darwinia+ will include:

‘New menus, tutorials, controls and visuals were introduced, to make Darwinia+ understandable and accessible.”

I’m glad there is a tutorial period, as I don’t remember one from when I first tried my hand at the game way back in 2006. Maybe I should revisit it…if you’re interested in more about Introversion check out the quotes at the source and their website.
