Borderlands Is On Death Row
Borderlands is right on the verge of release, but that isn’t a good thing for everyone, especially the title itself Michael Pachter would have you believe anyway. The video game analyst insists the title is being sent to die.
I think Borderlands is the definition of a game that should have had its own window and not be up against all this stuff. It’s absolutely the same audience. I don’t think it’s as much an RPG as they would like us to believe.
If it’s an RPG, Dragon Age is going to kick its butt; and if it’s a shooter, Call of Duty or something else is going to kick its butt.
Doesn’t sound good, and he might have a point, but Borderlands does offer a few unique things over its competition that don’t seem to have been taken into context. One Modern Warfare’s bad press regarding the price point which has split audiences, and two a mix of genres. While either game may be a stronger title in their own regard neither combine genres like Borderlands.
Is this just another analyst talking about what he doesn’t know? Or is Borderlands just walking into a death trap? Either way stick with BeefJack as we’ll let you know in due course.

Yes, because i care what a “video game analyst” says. I deffinately judge all my games based on a talentless article writer.
Dude is missing the point of the game. If i want an RPG, there’s a ton of them out there. Dime a dozen, so they say. Regarless if dragon age is good or not. Call of duty, hmm, let’s see, there’s like 20 of them and they are all the same.
My point being is that the industry offers very little in change. When a title like this comes out, good or bad, it should turn heads on the basis of innovation.
I mean come on. it’s a CO-OP rpg! that’s too crazy. What you say? it’s a FPS-RPG? no way!!
you don’t know what you’re talking about bblank, you’re just a fan boy for these particular games, so why trash a game that isn’t up to par for you? graphics may not be good enough for you, so you throw in a oblivion look alike and the obvious fps, cod mw2. So in other words, you are not a very good writer and I suggest you get another job
oh wait, my bad.. @ video game analyst
this game is different and that’s all I look for in a game. BORDERLANDS is a first person RPG like cell shaded shooter…..mmmm???? the other genertic looking games will have to wait. and when it comes to EA. their server sucks so I avoid any EA multyplayer game..enter SHFT.
I tried out Borderlands at PAX09. All 5 of my close gamer buddies have pre-ordered and are picking it up with me today. This game sits apart from titles like COD and Dragon Age and even Fallout3. If we are talking strictly about will it sell to people who can only afford to buy one title this fall…maybe not against ODST, MW2, etc… but don’t try to compare Borderlands game content or quality with those other titles…it’s apple & oranges.
I think hes gonna need our help getting his foot out of his mouth! i know it sold out in most stores in only a few days. played it, love it, and cant wait for DLC!
like DC said, your dragon age and cod are a dime a dozen. And as for your hating on the graphics, this is the first game ive played on any console where I can actually see farther then 50 feet becuase the developer didnt spend the entire time of development on making the game look astheticly pleasing rather then actually making a game with good mechanics, sorry bud but you wouldnt know a quality game if it punched you in the face.
You guys do realise that this post is about what a video game analyst has said, not me? I’m not sure how to make that more obvious, plus who hated on the graphics here?
