Bioshock’s Original Protagonist Will Be A Religious Figure In The Second Story
The original protagonist in the first Bioshock, Jack Ryan will apparently play a massive part in the sequel’s story and its world as a sort of religion figure according to creative director Jordan Thomas. But much like our very own lord and saviour residents of Rapture will be split over exactly what Jack did ten years prior to the sequel.
His story, for the purposes of BioShock 2, is over, in terms of his world driving narrative. That said, the things that he did are being fiercely debated by the splicers, because we wanted to support any of the choices the player could have made in the first game. It’s become kind of a religious question; what he did at the end of BioShock 1.
It’s an interesting direction and certainly brings up a lot of interesting choices for the story, which should no doubt beat the same choice, over, and over again (which somehow managed to be called revolutionary) but the obvious comparison’s to what happened to Mr. Freeman are quite noticeable. We’ve still got a while till Bioshock 2 hits though, so till then stick with BeefJack as we’ll continue our holy quest to keep up to date with the second coming.
