3 Million Gamers Played Dead Space
Survival horror game Dead Space has been played by about three million gamers — that’s twice as many customers who actually bought the game brand new. No, this isn’t because of piracy; rather, Visceral Games’ Glen Schofield said during an Electronics Arts podcast that the used game market certainly impacted how many people played Dead Space.
Roughly 1.5 million copies of the game were sold new yet 3 million people have played the game. You do the math. It’s clear the growing used game market has the benefit, at the very least, of exposing people to games they may not have purchased brand new.
