Guild Wars 2 Delayed
The sequel to one of the most popular free to play MMORPG’s has been delayed today. Guild Wars 2 has now been given a 2010-2011 release date. Guild Wars 2 was announced in 2007 and is being developed by NCSoft. This news is compounded by the fact that NCSoft has seen a 40% profit decrease in the previous year.
Not only is the company seeing a loss in profits but it has also begun to cut it’s work force in an increasingly difficult economic enviroment. About 70-90 employees were cut just last week. This news seems grim for the MMORPG developer but NCSoft remains optimistic saying they expect strong growth in 2009.
Guild Wars is a popular MMORPG which promotes instanced PvP and PvE gameplay. NCSoft plans to unleash a public beta sometime closer to release.
