WoW.com pointed out this piece by Business Management, an awesome breakdown of WoW in numbers. Check out the piece and the corresponding graphic yourself here.

It’s always fun to watch mainstream news sources try to describe something like WoW to the masses, though I fully agree with the author’s final point.

WoW, he says, is just a game. No more, no less. And while he apologizes for possibly offending, I think the comment is spot on. While I love Blizzard’s masterpiece, and had my binge episodes, it’s important to remember that sentiment at the end of the day.

Some fun numbers I liked :

-WoW has over 11 million subscribers, roughly the 75th most populated nation in the world.

-192 Quests take place every second.

-Over 3.6 million pieces of saronite ore is mined every day.

-There are over 30,000 unique items to acquire.
