Unreleased Dreamcast Game Jambo Safari To Hit DS and Wii Later This Year
Call me a prophet if you will but since the 9/9/1999 of the Dreamcast’s release I swore that the pinnacle of video gaming technology had graced humanity. And even now a full decade later that same console’s line-up is hitting current generation systems.
Jambo Safari puts you in the seat of a safari park ranger on his mission to track down and secure different animals in the African plain. Gameplay involved driving around tracking animals and engaging in high speed tug o’ war style battles to capture the animals (expect PETA to be all over this one).
Jambo Safari however isn’t a Dreamcast game as such, it’s a cancelled one. Originally planned for the console back in 2001, the game was ultimately cancelled when Sega went third party. Soon Wii and DS owners alike will be able to experience the game in an all new version.
As the arcade cabinet was immensely popular when it was still in circulation this release should cause a stir outside of the core Sega fan base. With modified gameplay and updated graphics this could end up being better than those fortunate to play it remember it being. For full details head on over to Sega and keep an eye out on Beefjack in the future for a full review when the game hits stores later this year.
