Red Dead Redemption Short Airing June 5 in the UK

Rockstar Games just refuses to yield the spotlight on its hit Western action game Red Dead Redemption.  First came the announcement of a Microsoft Points give-away then their free DLC following hot on the tail of the game’s release with the promise of more to come.  Now they’re taking it a step further with a short film based on the game that will be airing this coming week in the UK.

The short film (approximately 30 minutes in length) entitled The Man from Blackwater will be airing on Five USA on June 5.  The story follows outlaw John Marston on an action-packed quest to find an old friend on the Western frontier.  The Man from Blackwater promises to feature both major and minor characters from the game as the story unravels.

The role-reversing (video game to film) short has been directed by John Hillcoat, the mastermind behind The Road and the 2005 Western The Proposition.  This can only mean one thing: an epic six-shooter romp in the world of outlaws and bordellos.

So set your TiVos, my friends across the pond.  There’s no telling when this will again, if ever.
