Mass Effect was an amazing game, no it is an amazing game, and soon we’ll have the sequel. But with most games these days, gamers demand more, multiplayer for one, and with that in mind Bioware don’t seem opposed to trying out co-op at least.

When asked about the possibility of such a feature Dr. Ray Muzyka has this to say.

Sure, we would consider it. We haven’t announced anything on that front yet, but those are interesting ideas. They could make a great gameplay experience. Whether we’ll do them or not remains to be decided.

He then went on to admit that while it wouldn’t be easy to implement such a feature, it’s far from impossible.

We’ve done it, and we’re doing it again now in Star Wars: The Old Republic. But it is challenging,

Dragon Age for one would’ve greatly benefited from the feature, for example the Elf origin story based in the Alienage featured a companion that was left by the wayside when your quest began. And even then a drop in, drop out feature would’ve worked for any of the party members. Time only knows if Bioware decides to try it out though.
