Infamous 2 accidentally confirmed

The first Infamous was totally awesome, and I refuse to use the ‘official’ spelling of “InFamous”.

Straight from the horses mouth, Infamous 2 is on the way. Well, not so much the horse, but take a look at this screenshot from David Sullivan’s Twitter. This tweet has since been deleted, but the visual evidence lives on.

Anybody who has beaten Infamous know that a sequel is likely, at least from a story standpoint. I’m not sure how well Infamous sold, but considering they’re possibly holding auditions, it must have been enough. Lets just hope it isn’t another god damn trilogy. Can’t games operate on a duology, or quintology these days?

If you’ve seen the tweet, you can see that David Sullivan, a man who I’ve never heard of, is auditioning for the re-casting of Cole (main character). I guess that it could be a time-lapse thing, years later he could sound different. Or it could be they’re responding to the reaction that he always sounded kinda like a dick, and that he sounded like a garbage disposal with a silverware set stuck down it all the time.

  2. I really think its a stupid Idea to make a part two. I know the creators worked their asses off to make the first one but they had a story that threw me off (In other words it sucked). It was not that interesting and I know many others out there agree with me. Incase your wondering, yes I own the game and yes I regret it. Sure the game was good but not great. The whole climbing on walls thing was awsome but it gets annoying after awhile, its another shooter type game, i dont understand how he can survive a 100ft drop when his only power is electricity, All three type of bad guys all look the same in each island, I dont understand why the bad guys on the third island can turn huge or invinsible, the story does noy change much if your good or evil, Why the heck does he get a new power in the sewers, why can Sasha (first boss) control minds… I played this game for hours just like everyone else but when I finished the game, it got so boring… I beat the whole game and all the side missions, after that… there is really nothing else to do. Sure they have a few hidden bad guys but thats it. The game was Seriuosly overrated and should not be considered a top game for the ps3.

  3. I completely disagree with Eric’s comment having just finished the game myself. You say that the game wasnt great, but you claim to have played it all the way through (on both sides) and completed everything that you possibly could. Either you have too much time on your hands, or you are in denial about the greatness of inFAMOUS. Second, why would one ask questions about things that done make sense in a Sci-Fi VIDEO GAME. The story was awesome, maybe it went over Eric’s head, the plot twists kept me engaged and i felt like i was playing a movie. It is a top-rated game for a reason, and that is why video-game reviewers get paid and not you ERIC. Can’t wait for the sequel.

  4. I agree with Eric. And I think the game definitely loses it’s novelty after the first or second island. The sequel better make allot of changes or i probably wont even look at it.

  6. Here is my opinion on infamous, overrated, uninteresting, unchallengeing, boring, and most importantly NOT ENTERTAINING! First of all wheteher your good or evil trish still dies, second when you take territory the bad guys rarely show up (what are you supposed to do then?) finally my epic foreshadow,in infamous 2 you will play as kesler who goes back in time to ???? up his own life.(seriously why not go back in time and fight his rival before he gets powers or something like that) I say that prototype was way more fun than this, in prototype you get way more upgrades, it makes sense why you CAN survive a bullet to the head, the story is very interesting, it has better challenges, and it actually has a menu. also owen when you said that eric was in denial you forget that your the one in denial, you say that infamous is great but look at its features closer and you’ll see nothing interesting. all i see about cole is a guy with a battery up his ass who can’t even take a bath, plus he will die since he can’t drink water the human body can only survive about 3 days without water(i’ll give him 5 mins). the sci-fi in this game was very unrealistic, humans cannot survive a 100ft fall nor can they survive bullets to the head since his only power is electricity. This is just a third person shooter with infinite ammo.

    • First of all, how can you play as Kessler in the sequel? He’s already went back in time and changed his past therefore Cole wouldn’t become Kessler. Think it through man! And yes, prototype was a great game….but I can’t remember a point in inFamous where Cole got shot in the head. And if you’re getting annoyed over a lack of menu then grow up, what could they have possibly have put in a main menu that would have improved it? Finally, if you paid attention to the story you’d realise that Cole is a conduit as well, “same rules don’t apply”. But I’ll admit, the water things a good point.

    • I agree in a very aggressive manor, inFamous was one of the most amazing games I have EVER played, and I’ve been playing games for a while brother. I have only recently obtained a PS3 and this was the first game I bought and beat on it but after playing a 360 and a variety of games on the PS3 I am entitled to my opinion and inFamous is the Boss on Top, the most interactive game ever and its just so awesome, it really gets to sucking in the end because there is no one to kick ass but just start a new game and kick ass all over again, honestly, think about it, how many other games can you scale a skyscraper in seconds, shoot electricity out of your hands, and survive a 100ft fall? Only in inFamous and everyone knows this. The creators went through animation hell to create this groundbreaking game and revolutionize the gaming industry, so do your fellow humans a Honor and give them a 10? Really, you might be able to beat the game but can you BE the game? Oh and ???? YOU CAPN Awsome95, Halo kicked ass and so did MASTER CHIEF, read the books and then his name will be clear!!!

  11. Ace you so effing stupid. How many video games are there in the world that when you get shot 10 times your still alive, if you get shot in the head your still alive. If it was that realistic so that you die each time your shot, or if you fall from a building and die, im pretty sure you would get really pissed off. seriously the only games that should be realistic are sporting game. By the way Sci-Fi isnt meant to make sence. like seriously im suprised you didnt bag on about how he survived a nuclear explosion when the bomb was with him.

    Games are made to be something you cant experience in the real world, for christ sakes thats why their called games. InFamous is an amazing game and i would be glad to shed out more money for a sequel.

  12. Thank goodness someone said it. Thank you, Kai. inFAMOUS isn’t meant to be realistic. The game clearly has super natural elements. (All the conduits). Maybe people who are complaining do not understand the story line that well? Conduits all have super abilities. Also, if you want a sci-fi explanation of why he can handle falls then recall the dead drop when they say that Kessler was experimenting with how electricity interacts with the muscles. Settle for the fact that he has heightened body to survive. It is fictional so that should be enough. Prototype isn’t very realistic either. That doesn’t make it bad. If you want an overrated game, play Halo Trilogy.

If you wanna buy this game then fine your wasting your money and time not me, and no i dont get pissed off when i get killed i get back on my feet and try harder if you get pissed off then you may need to just take a deep breath and i dont mean that in a bad way just chill out it’s just a game you dont need to get mad if you lose, yes i do have a life what i usually do is try to help people thats a personally hobby of mine so when you trash talk me just think “was it right” im just trying to help you make a better decision there are alot of other games worth having.

  16. Ok well i just finished the game myself. And i agree with most all of you people. Infamous is a great game tho it lacks some things. The Dead Codes do explain some things about how the kessler/aka cole can survive falls. Im big on science and shit and if u ever read up on electronic muscle stimulation. It can let your muscles become much strong for breef periods of time which can explain his ability to survive long falls. And being able to survive gun shots can be simple to. simply cover his body in a small electronic current which can repel high velocity projectiles. Anyways off that, the game was good but can be better with a second. I think it deserves a second because his powers can go much farther then they where, hence end video and boss battle where keesler can teleport and summon shit. And prototype sucked dont even compare it to infamous.

  17. Ace, give it up man. Everyone posting here thinks that, overall, this game kicks ass. Try to play it on hard if it’s too easy for you. Play other games so u can realize how better this one is. Try to follow the plot, ( if ur too stupid to than look it up on the internet) And just give the game another chance, please.. So then ull agree with us and this fightll stop.   19. Well I think the only who is kind of dumb here is eric. He shouldn’t really be complaining about how bad the plot is when he paid no attention to it. He can survive because of his electrically stimulated body which is also how he can heal so fast and heal others. Also, What are you talking about. Each gang has numerous variations on how the members look. the bad guys on the 3rd island can turn huge because they are conduits who were affected by the blast. He gets a new power in the sewers because he gets a powerful electrical surge when he restores the substations. Sasha can control minds because she is also conduit, just a more powerful one. Don’t say it sucks when your just too stupid to understand it.

  20. For all of you that agree with Ace and Eric I will say to Ace. Yes prototype has way more upgrades but you mainly like that game because of the gorinous of it all. Do you think that everyone likes tearing apart their enemies by barely flicking their rist. Infamous is a good challange and the storyline may not change much no matter what you do but at least you have a choice. Prototype only lets you loose wreak havoc on humans. But I do agree about having lots to do in the game.
