Doritos XBLA Games, Take Two
When I first purchased my Xbox 360 last year the first thing I did was cruise on over to the XBLA in search of free stuff. I loaded up on Demos, but also stumbled upon a totally free game; Dash of Destruction.
For those who’ve never played it, Dash of Destruction was a thinly veiled Doritos commercial about T-Rexes chasing delivery trucks. It was also free, and it was also not awful.
The game was the winner of last year’s Unlock Xbox competition and Doritos is back at it again this year, letting players select their favorite game concept. Just like last year the winner will get made into a free to download XBLA game.
This years finalists are :
1. “Arak Attack” by Samuel Gaultlent of Bellevue, Nebraska
2. “Avatar Crash Course” by Jill Robertson of Raleigh, North Carolina
3. “Fowl Play” by Matt Kurtz of New Haven, Indiana
4. “Harms Way” by Justin Carpenter of Ogden, Utah
5. “Have A Ball” by Keith Nelson of Spokane, Washington
6. “Skies Ablaze” by BJ Chavez of Waskom, Texas
7. “The Artifact” by Jonah Masse of Dixmont, Maine
8. “Thrown” by Jason Santaman of San Diego, Calif.
Those interested in voting can head over to www.unlockxbox.com for their chance to weigh in.
Dash of Destruction was not that bad, so I’m kind of excited for this year’s result; plus free is free. You can’t really go wrong.
