America’s Army Cost $33m Over the Past 10 Years
The somewhat controversial army recruitment FPS ‘America’s Army’ has reportedly cost $33 million to run over the course of the franchise, since its inception and initial development back in 2000 before it launched. The team began development on the sim in 2000 with a reported ‘Five year budget’ of $7 million.
Of course, the yearly budget has fluctuated since then- going as high as $5.6 million in 2001, to as low as $1.2 million in 2005. The costs no doubt revolve around the amount of updates the game has received, as well as other console spin-offs including ‘America’s Army: Rise of the Soldier’ and ‘True Soldiers’ last year.
