The dates and venues for the 2010 Pokémon Video Game were announced earlier this month. So, if you’ve been addicted to your copy of Soul Silver/Heart Gold for the last month and created a team of hard hitters, then this year just may be your year.
Apart from announcing dates and venues there was the surprising news that Legendary Pokémon would be permitted for use in the Championship. The inclusion of Legendary Pokémon is in part down to the vast number of them available in the recent games. When Pokémon Video Game Championships were originally launched with the first series of games Legendary Pokémon were not permitted entry. However, it seems that organisers will now be taking advantage of the ability to set up Flat Battles and GS Cup rules that use a feature that automatically levels down Pokémon that are over level 50.
European qualifiers kick off in the NEC, Birmingham, UK on Saturday May 29. US starts up May 8, Seattle, Washington at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. The World Championship is due to touch down on August 13, Kona, Hawaii at Hilton Waikoloa Village.
