Every once awhile moments occur in fighting game tournaments that really get your blood pumping! Well Fighting Words is proud to present the highlight reel!

When it comes to fighting games there is one thing you have to keep in mind, never, under any circumstances give up!

Our first highlight hits you from Evolution, with Justin Wong providing some of his Marvel Magic:

In Marvel things can go from bad to worse very quickly, but Justin Wong just kept playing his game, and was able to turn the match around to his favor. It helped that when Wong got caught in Psylocke’s aerial combo towards the end, Yipes (the other player) either decided not to do super, or missed the input which may have decided the match. You can hear the surprise in the announcers voice, but nonetheless a fantastic comeback to be added to the annuls of history.

Of course sometimes the comebacks are less conventional…

If you don’t understand what happened from the video, here is the play by play. In the last round Kensou the C. Viper player misses his ultra, and Liston exuberant goes for his to end the match. You can see Sagat startup his ultra as Liston and his fellow New York players go crazy. The ultra actually ends up whiffing leaving both players standing unharmed. Kensou is able to get back to his controller in the commotion and win the round. Liston paid for being a bit flashy.

Just a gameplay note, in the corner Sagat’s ultra even if land, will still whiff the last part. There is a way around this, but only if you’re close enough in the corner to be able to get to the other side. So be careful!

The next video has become an internet sensation, and probably needs no introduction. Justin Wong again takes center stage in a match that still is talked about.

This comes from yet another Evolution, and with Daigo coming out of retirement for Street Fighter IV Justin Wong may have a shot at redemption! It should be noted that this was not the final match, and that Wong has beat Daigo in games before, but this time the flash and the clutch ability make this one of the best moments at any Evolution tournament.

Last but certainly not least, the most clutch play I’ve seen yet. Watch world, the new players are on their way up!

Okay, I’m sorry, but it was too cute not too add. Also props to the dad for getting his two year old to play Street Fighter online against another kid. When I have my own children I plan to fight him against other kids like Pokemon. Snow Jr. I choose you!
