Supreme Commander 2 Setting its Sights on March
Supreme Commander 2, Square Enix’s highly anticipated strategy title has been set for a firm North American release date on March 2 for the PC, and March 16 for the XBOX 360. They are planning on bringing the game to European store shelves in the Spring of 2010. The real-time strategy title is set on an epic scale, and has left fans of the original game drooling since it was announced this past December.
The second game in the Supreme Commander series is set only 25 years after the events of the original. When Supreme Commander first hit stores in 2005, it wowed PC gamers and critics alike. The XBOX 360 release, on the other hand, was not as successful. Real-time strategy games have never really translated well from the PC to the consoles, but a few titles have made the transition well in recent years. This disparity, however, is already cropping up when it comes to multiplayer. The PC version of the game can handle eight players in a match, but the XBOX 360 edition can only take on four. If the 360 struggles to keep up in other areas, it could turn out pretty badly.
