dark void news size concept art thingDespite a few massive failures (see The Legend of Chun-Li, as a source of proof, don’t watch the movie), the whole video games to movies thing seems to be catching on pretty well. The upcoming jetpack themed action game is being turned into a movie, and to make it work, Capcom has reached a deal with Reliance Big Entertainment and Plan B Entertainment. For those of us who don’t know too much about the movie business, it should be noted that Plan B Entertainment is the production company for Brad Pitt.

Capcom elaborated on this information by pointing out that they are working to make the game into:

a sci-fi action franchise and potential starring vehicle for Pitt.

All of this happy, silver screen related news is met with some depressing news for those who are interested in the actual game. The release date of Dark Void has been pushed back to January 19,2010, a week later than its previously set date.
